When Pigs Fly

When Pigs Fly is one of Net Entertainment’s coolest games, and uses a very unique gameplay structure, that has you on the edge of your seat on almost every spin.

The game uses a creative 1970’s, cartoon-like theme, with the story behind the game revealing how Pigs – the animals – managed to develop technology to fly into space. It’s a bizarre game, but the payout potential is big, and it’s incredibly exciting, thanks to the way in which the game runs.

This 5-reel slot uses a 3,125-ways-to-win format, although initially you’ll be restricted in the number of pay lines on offer – more on this in the bonus-round section below.

You’ll see both low-paying and high-paying symbols, with the first being playing-card numbers, 10 through to Ace. The high-paying symbols include Green Balloons, a Helmet, Male Pigs, Female Pigs, and the wild symbol is simply a big, pink, “Wild” logo.

During the base game, you’ll notice there’s only one symbol on reels 1 and 5, with three symbols on reels 2 and 4, and 5 symbols on reel 3. If you manage to make a win, reel one “unlock”, to display three symbols; if you win on the next spin, the fifth reel will unlock, and this continues, over 6 winning spins, until the entire 5X5 gameboard is exposed. Once you manage this, you’ll then be awarded the bonus-round.

Free Spins

6 consecutive wins, and you’ll enter the free-spins mode – there’s no scatter symbols or anything like that to worry about. You’re initially awarded 8 free-spins, and during the free-spins, the entire 5X5 gameboard is unlocked, meaning the full 3,125-ways-to-win pay structure is active. It’s impossible to predict how much the free-spins bonus usually pays, but even the lowest-paying of the reel symbols can offer huge payouts, when stacked on reels, across the full five reels.

If you’ve ever played Microgaming’s Immortal Romance, or Game of Thrones before, you’ll already know what it means to remove pay lines from the game; while the aforementioned use a 243-ways-to-win, the idea is the same, and pay lines are essentially removed from the game completely. Instead, you simply need to land one symbol, on three consecutive reels, to guarantee a win – the positioning is irrelevant. Land two symbols on one reel, and just one on the other three for example, and you’ll have two winning pay lines – three symbols on that first reel, and one on the other two awards 3 winning pay lines, and so on. It can be a bit confusing to get your head around at first, but once you get the hang of how it works, you’ll see just how profitable it makes playing, when landing the right symbols.

You can’t re-trigger any more free-spins unfortunately, but one of the best things about When Pigs Fly, is the consistency of how often you get to the bonus-round. Of course, it also becomes very frustrating when you’re only one win away, yet fail to get it.
